On the face of it, QSQT (which, not many know, was the first Hindi film to be referred to by its acronym), a take on Romeo and Juliet, appeared to be a typical Bollywood love story with some extra masala. One such movie was Mansoor Khan's Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (QSQT), which released on April 29, 1988. Now, there are two types of movies - ones that make our Fridays or weekends happy and the others that leave an impression that lasts for years, kickstart a new trend in the film industry and go on to become cult classics. As the lights go out and we settle into our seats, we hope to get transported to another world, a world that is not just about itself, but also us. The beauty of a film, be it Bollywood, regional, or Hollywood, is that it means different things to different people.
